Red River Chili Powder provides an earthy and robust base to any dish - especially homemade chili! This is a blend of dried chili peppers from the New Mexico "Chili Trail", which is dubbed the chili capital of the world. The dry high altitude climate with hot days, cool nights along with sandy loam soil provides ideal growing conditions for a wide range of peppers. More importantly, the low humidity allows farmers to sun-dry their harvest for maximum flavor.
This chili blend is not particularly hot or spicy and is often combined with Chipotle or Habanero for extra heat. Its rich, earthy flavor is ideal for Mexican and Central American dishes, rubs, soups and slow-cooked stews.
